MRI - Magnetic Resonance Imaging
MRI enables a view of many structures of the foot and ankle not detectable by any other imaging method. These include the Achilles tendon, peroneal tendon, posterior tendon sheath, flexor hallicus longus tendon, deltoid tendon, suspensory ligament of the ankle, muscles and bone marrow. Because of the normal fat around them, their definition is very good even though they are mostly low signal.
